Tara Durkin is a high school business and technology teacher at Mission Valley High School in rural Wabaunsee County, Kansas, where she teaches a mix of business, technology, and graphics classes. A former varsity volleyball coach, one of her greatest coaching accomplishments was winning the 2010 3A State Volleyball Tournament with her volleyball team from Osage City High School. Tara is the wife of Martin and mother to twelve-year-old Parker and nine-year-old Malia. They live on a farm a few short miles from Mission Valley. For her master’s project, she is completing tutorials for the Athletic Training Department at Emporia State University to assist them in converting written exams to online exams that follow the style of the BOC National Certification Exam for Athletic Trainers. The title of her project is “Converting Athletic Training Exams to Canvas”.
